Just had our first power outage of the new year. I reached for my 2 month

old Tk15 and gave it a click, it stays on only as long as I keep the button

depressed, as soon as I release it it goes off. Any idea of what I can do to

correct this problem? It was working great up until now. Thanks.
 
Maybe yours is doing what mine is? See if it is. I can depress the clicky three separate times and it stays on EACH time but the 4th and 5th time I use the clicky the light goes on only as long as I keep the button depressed. Maybe not your problem but mine is starting to bug me and I am about to contact Fenix and ask them why mine works that way. Maybe someone out in CPF space knows the answer to both of our questions?
 
Try tightening the retaining ring down on the inside of the switch cap. It is a silver ring with 2 indentations that surrounds the spring (if the switches are the same as my Fenix's). A pair of small needle-nose pliers works great. I haven't had any problems with the clicky switches on my Fenix lights.
 
That wasn't a good fix. Now mine doesn't stay on at all and the ring does not want to stay tight inside the end cap tight. How does one put it back together? I suppose you have to take it apart to put in the orange cover so what am I not doing to make the button stay on again?

If the ring on the inside of the switch cap is tightened it should stay in there and not be loose. You tighten the retaining ring as I mentioned in the post above, making sure that the treads have aligned properly and screwing it down by turning it clockwise EDIT: some models may have the ring turn counter clockwise. Hopefully someone else can help with the issue, or you could contact Fenix. You might just need a new switch mechanism which they might send to you.

On the LD20 the switch retaining ring tightens reverse so to tighten you go anticlockwise. I don't have a TK15 to verify but perhaps you thought you were tightening and were in fact loosening which would make the problem worse. Fenix put this PDF on their site which may help too

this is going to sound dumb, but make sure the cigar ring is tightened ALL the way down as far as it can go. When I first gave my mom hers, she didn't tighten it far enough and it was doing what you are describing. Just make sure everything is screwed down as far as it can go.

I haven't had a single issue with any of my tk15's.
 
Well, that worked as far as putting it back together, but mine still does this:

1. Press on...it lights. Press off ...it goes off.
2. Ditto
3. Ditto
4. Press on and it will light but will not stay on unless one holds it down.
5. Like #4
6th time it repeats the above sequence.
Have authorization to return for new one from Amazon.com...think I'll still send it back for a replacement as this doesn't seem right. It is an absolute sequence and never varies. Also, I turned it as tight as I dare to go (it's REALLY tight now) and the ring is not the problem.

Cicero, my post was directed at the OP...your problem sounds like something that you can't fix. You're definitely smart to send it back.
