Newly Enlightened
Hi there - I just purchased the TK45 and LD40 and I've been researching battery types for the last week straight. I know eneloops are the best - I just haven't purchased any yet. I will run alkalines for the time being and be mindful not to drain them or let them sit in the lights for too long unused but I do have a bunch of Engergizer Lithium AAs I would like to use too.
Fenix does not recommend the use of lithium AA batteries in these lights, why? I can understand not being able to use rechargeable lithium ion batteries but to my knowledge (and I am self admitedly electrically-challenged..) an alkaline AA and a primary lithium AA (energizer) both put out 1.5V so what's the problem?
I would much prefer to use lithium AAs do to reduced weight, increased light and resistance to cold but I really don't want to fry these lights.
Yes I have been using the search function for like the last week straight and I can't find an explanation as to why lithium AAs might be harmful to these lights. Even if they are over driving them a bit they should be able to handle it.
Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated
