Vinh (or Wayne),

The TM36 is the ideal host for throw, using the latest XPG2 bin. I am continuously impressed with my fiat lux TM36vnM.

Do you know if there is an existing or almost-released led that would provide more candela in this host?

HINT: The new target is 1.3 million candela, since saabluster just came out with an aspheric that provides this value.

Reflector will never touch aspheric...Just the nature of the game...

No replacement LED yet

Vihn, I have one of the new Zebralight SC600 Mark III flashlights. If I cut the flashlight in half and send you the guts, would you be able to put it's XPG 35 LED and boost circuit into my TM36vnM? It puts out over 1300 lumen, and can actually go up to 1800 i believe.... would be very, very interesting to see what it could do in this light.

Yes that can be done but I do not think the LED is driven hard enough. I think a high voltage driver would better drive the LED. I am testing some XHP35 options soon. Will update everyone.

SUPER COOL IDEA!

I've been curious about these high voltage emitters and will most likely buy the h600w MKIII when its released.

Crazy zebra can get such great efficiency out of a single cell 12v driver.

Hmmm.... this sounds very interesting. Maybe Santa will bring me a million + lux swap for my TM36vn as a late present.

Oh boy! I figured it was about time for Vinh to break new ground (once again). My throwers are fun, but no substitute for being able to light up a whole scene. I'm excited to see what's next for 2016!

A tm36VNm WITH a max boosted XHP 35 WOULD BE GROUNDBREAKING, I for one, can't wait. The ginormous battery that comes with the light should be able to have decent run times even with a relatively inefficient boost driver, and the 1800 lumen..... pants wetting!

I've read about a couple builds on blf using xhp35 hi, and it seems that it produces ~15% less lux than dedomed xml2 u4. Both emitters driven hard. Xhp35 hi driven to the max (4s dd iirc). I'm still interested to see which lights xhp35 really shines in!
