I just received the Tomahawk GP from First Light.

This is the Military Spec. Model.

From First Light's Website.

SPECIFICATIONS
WEIGHT :: 5.6 ounces
DIMENSIONS :: 3.35" H x 2.38" L x 1.48" W
MAXIMUM LIGHT OUTPUT
:: 120 lumens
CONTROL FUNCTIONS :: Momentary
:: Constant-On (3 levels)
BATTERY RUNTIME :: 2 hours (highest setting)
:: 60 hours (lowest setting

First Light is located in Seymour, Illinois.

I first heard of the First Light Company through a thread in CPF.

Fit is excellent.

The Type III Hard Anodize has some marks in the finish. The marks are on the bezel.

Uses a SSC.

The Tomahawk GP has a Momentary on and Constant On. What ever level you put the light in it stays in that level when you turn it on.
Has a separate buttom for the light levels. The light levels go in this order, high, medium and low. There is separate button for momentary on.

My version has only 3 levels of light.

The UI is very easy to use.

The GP can use Rechargeable Lithiums. Fits AW's Protected RCR123's (Blue) with ample room.

My light came in Lockout Mode. To release Lockout Mode, depress and hold the Constant On and Light Level Button for 1.5 seconds. (The light has a lock light. On is red. Off is green). The green unlock will come on. use this feature to lock the light. The instructions recommend to put the light in Lock Out Mode when not in use or during transport.

Small and compact.

Retail price $149.00

I got my light for $134.10

Shipping UPS $8.00

I also took lux readings of the lights shown above. These are the lux readings I got. I am using a Meterman LM631 Light Meter measured at 1 meter. I waited 2 minutes before taking the readings. I am using AW's Protected RCR123's and AW's Protected 18650 which were fully charged.

The Tomahawk GP and the Tiablo MA6 Q5 used RCR123's.

ernsanada, great review as always. I am very tempted to buy the exact model that you have. I would mainly be interested in it for its low level though.

Would you mind taking a comparison shot between the MA6 and Tomahawk GP on thier lowest levels? I do not have any 123a lights right now that offer 60 hours of runtime on low.

Thanks again for the great review!

This is the closet I could get to what I actually saw. I had to set my camera to manual.

Great pics and review as always. How's it on the belt. Would you please post a pic of it on your waist/belt.

I was using the light last night working on my gate. I was filling a hole with wood putty.

I tried 2 positions.

This postion worked the best for me because I was working at my chest level.

You are awesome.That was fast.
I'm guessing that you don't have it set all the way in the pic on your belt right? The pic on your sweater it seems like there's a little bit of nose dive.
Thanks so much for the pics.

The Tomahawk GP pushed all the way down to the top of the belt.

OK...now I really want one....Thanks for the lux readings, beamshots and jacket/belt pics. This looks like a great camping light! Again, thanks!

I emailed First Light and confirmed that their lights are made in the USA.
