Hi All
As the post says, im looking for recommendations for a torch for use at work.Their are so many brands\models it difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff so i found you guys.
Use - I am a taxi driver so im looking for a torch that is BRIGHT and can throwa good distance. In the distant past when i was last driving a cab (16 yearsago) i found a high powered touch is good not only for finding the correct house number but also for alerting the occupants you are outside. I want it to have a stobe option thats fast to get to and be impact resistant.
From my research so far I think i need
* 500 -900 lumens (this seems bright enough from the reviews)
* I think LED,they appear brighter and last longer and more resistant to impact(tell me if im wrong)
* Strobe option that's easy to get to (useful to disorientate when shined at the eyes)
* Rugged - survive impact, in and out of car lots, it will get dropped onto concrete in the end.
* a recommendation on make...surefire look the best but too expensive. What other models are of good quality
* price rage£50 - £75
Nice to have
* reachable from the car (save on batteries)
* Control ring rather than button. I need to be able to get to strobe quickly so a torch with a "push this button 8 times" to find the mode is not going to work.
