Hello all - first timer here.. After lurking for a couple of weeks, and then registering last week - I've pulled the trigger on a couple of nice deals in the marketplace, just to get my feet and wallet wet - but now, I feel I've made my first 'real' purchase - a Quark 2aa r2 light, tactical version. When I saw the video on the 4 seven's site on how the light is programmed, I was SOLD. Seems rock solid and simple. I guess as icing on the cake, the prism accessory comes with - just more bonus!!

Anyone else care to comment on theirs? I know I might be a generation or two behind the times in terms of technology with the r2 emitter, but I think it's going to be plenty bright for me...

At any rate, all of this collected knowledge is starting to rub off on me... can't wait to put it to use...

I've bought a few of the Quark R2 torches recently. I started out with a couple of the regulars but in the end started buying tacticals to match my 2 Quark Turbos. I like the beam shape of the R2's which is why I haven't bought any of the non-Turbo R5's though I wish my ones tints were a little cooler/bluer like my Turbo R5's. My R2's mostly gravitate to a slightly warm pinkish. They are plenty bright though.

I don't think you will be dissapointed. I've had my AA2 R2 for about a week and I really love it. Superb fit and finish. The prism is a cool add on with the diffuser (it does suck up a lot of light, but works ok on high for area lighting). I also like the tint, seems very neutral compared some of my other leds and the various levels work well for me.

I bought the Quark AAx2 tactical R5 a few weeks ago and it's great. I was using a MiniMag and Mag 3D both in LED versions, but this little light is replacing both Mags as it's much more versatile. I find I'm using the Quark a lot more than I used the Mags because the Med and Low outputs are perfect for night use where you just need some light, not the full output that the Mags forced me to use.

As for the R2, you won't be disappointed with the output at all, it's very bright at 170 real lumens. Have fun with it!

That's funny. I've been lurking for a bit too and registered just a while back. I also purchased the same light as my first modern LED flash light. I was originally going to get something cheaper and smaller but gave in the the numbers on the bigger model(which isn't all that big anyways).

Exact same story here! Had the quark for about a week and love it! I also bought a Malkoff drop-in for my 6D Mag based on reading this forum. The Quark aa r-2 is my go-to light now but the Malkoff Mag is what I grab when I need more power and throw.
