I'm in the market for something with a good throw, but useable spill. I don't want anything massive and it must be cheap!

I've been looking at this trustfire X8, which seems to get gleaming reviews from everywhere (other than CPF)...

This one also appeals to me, as i'm guessing it would have a longer runtime than the X8 due to the 26650's, however, i'm not sure if this would throw as far, due to reflector size?

Also, could one 26650 give me as much runtime as 2x 18650's??

X8 has pretty good throw but not as good as the other 2x18650 XM-L "cannons". Spill isn't very useable, it's pretty tight, doesn't light up wide area. I don't know can Keygos match X8 in throw but it should be close. No, 1x26650 wouldn't give you as much runtime as 2x18650.

The most cheap throw you can get from an xml is the Skyray STL-V2, also known as the Fandyfire STL-V6. The X8 is a very good light in it's own right though, and you can use it 2X18650 or 1X18650 from what I've read. While I don't have any direct knowledge of the second link, out of the 3 choices the m10 isn't going to throw as much. Personally I'd take a chance on the 26650 light. From what I've seen those batteries are very good capacity and I'm guessing the light will perform like an X8, though it won't throw quite as far because the head size is smaller (stated 44mm compared to 48mm for the Keygos). The Keygos 26650's are far better than the generic and horrible 18650s in the first link. By way of comparison though the Skyray has a 62mm head (bigger = more throw).

I would defiantly go with the Sky Ray STL-V2 it's got to be the best thrower for the money. I also have the FF model also but it came with a bad switch so kinda favor the STL-V2 I have many throwers like the M3X and the 7G5 and it holds it's own up to them.
