Hi all, first post :)

I bought a Trustfire XP-E F23 and I'm trying to disassemble the clicky from the tail cap, but I can't unscrew white ring with two holes in it.

I'm applying as much force as I'm comfortable applying.

In comparison, the light pill came out VERY easily.

advice please?

Maybe apply a little liquid lubricant to seep in .

Put it in the freezer for 2 hours , to contract the parts . (making them pull away from each other)

Then try again ........ while it's cold .

like WD-40?

Well ... WD-40 is more a cleaner than a lubricant .... maybe use some 3'N'1 oil or Extra Virgin Olive Oil ... around the threads ... just a little .

The main objective is to shrink the parts by freezing .... oil to reduce friction .

( I'm not kidding about freezing the switch end-cap )

Later .... clean all the parts ..... after it's apart .

And Welcome to CPF ... :welcome:

WD-40 is probably not the best idea because it is partly a lubricant that has some penetration qualities, but a small squirt of some "true" penetrating oil might do the trick. A good reliable one is PBlaster. Another well known one is Liquid Wrench.

The drawback is that these chemicals tend to have a strong odor, but that should go away after awhile, especially if you wipe everything clean when you get the switch apart. Also, try to avoid getting this stuff on your O-rings if you try it. Depending on their composition these chemicals might degrade them.

Be carefull with the white plastic ring.

I broke the threads of the mine. Is only plastic, easily to break.

If can not unscrew, probably now is being glued from factory.....

If you are in the USA,Wurth US sell a product called Rost Off Ice,it freezes anything so the item contracts and you may undo it then.

Hmm, I'll try the freezing thing...

But the only reason why I want to take the switch apart is to put some lube where the rubber switch cover seals with the metal body for water protection.
I'm thinking that if it's this tight already, it's probably already water tight enough :p
