Anyone seen or own one of these? Another member steered me to them, on www.lighthings.com. There is one picture, and almost no real information: "You can see how not one more LED can be squeezed into the case. The LEDs are solidly mounted, so you will never have to worry about the LEDs bending out of shape.
There is a manufacturer's one year warranty as well as our own 30 day money back guarantee." That, and the fact they are 'hand made'. (In someone's basement? They have a cheap look about them. Water resistant? Almost certainly not. But I'm going by one photo, and absolutely no numbers at all, except the 3AA batteries, and 10 LED's. Any information on these $65
'pager sized' flashlights? The one interesting feature is the button that allows you to overdrive the LED's Wonder how long you can do that before they overheat, and fail? Again, no information.

Hi Gandalf!

Just one comment: HANDS OFF!!!

There are so many very sophisticated flashlights out there, and the Turbospyder is so MISERABELY built....

If you are looking for a good flashlight, wait for the ArcLS, it will cost about 80$ with the adapters, and it has the most high-tech in it, Luxeon star LED, self adjusting stepup converter... And as I know the ARC lights I own, the manufacturing quality will be superior...

I think the Turbospyder is worth 2$ for each LED, makes 20$, and another 4$ for the rest of the parts and the work... So 65 bucks is a little bit overdriven...

Bye,

oh, give the Turbo 10 a break. are you so freaked by the use of aluminum strip from a soda can? You know the Army, or Navy, or somebody used the very same material in the "helicopter in a suitcase" robotic flying machines used to do aerial spy work, and fly 200 foot antennas straight up for radio transmissions.. my turbospyder has been working flawlessly for a year or so -- even after dropping -- you can't beat success -- look at the torture tests at the above 'angelfire' address -- it's a tough light -- and I can tell you it is nearly as bright as the ligtwave 4000 and is brighter in the turbo mode - and it's so much smaller than the 4000...the instructions limit the amount of time the flashlight should be used in the 'turbo' mode..I forget exactly how long, a few minutes? the 'turbo' button is a momentary one -- but there is no overdrive damage as long as it isn't used long enough to produce much heat..
