I'm disappointed by my Fenix E05 (R2), and frankly I'm a little turned off by the company and the surprisingly disappointing (very) limited warranty. I treated it gently, never abused it, and it just stopped working suddenly. I've done the usual cleaning and such in an attempt to revive it, but I think it's given up the ghost. So I need a replacement light, comparable in size and functionality. Is there a light that folks would consider similar but more durable, perhaps with a better warranty, or made by a company with better customer service, maybe even a US company?

Maybe I'm overreacting and the E01 would serve me well, but I'm just ticked off right now, darn it! Maratac AAA, maybe? Heck, Maglite Solitaire, which I have to believe can take a beating?

Well it won't go down well here - but how about a Led Lenser P3 AFS?

Wow KAS1808! Been a member for 44 years and only one post.

OP, anything man made can fail. I bought a Malkoff MD2 and it died only hours after receiving it. Nothing is certain. I used to keep an EO5 on my keys and it got dropped onto concrete more times than I can remember. It eventually died, sort of. It still works but only puts out 3-5 lumens.

I went for an EO1 as it's pretty much bomb proof and I only wanted a light there as a last resort light. I've usually got at least two other lights on me or near me most any time I'm out of the house.

Sorry to hear your light died. How long had you had the E05 for?

If you want a replacement and longer warranty, take a look at the FourSevens P0: costs $5 more but it also has a moonlight mode and should come with a 10-year warranty!

My favourite brand is Fenix and you may just have a Friday night special, well a cheap little light worth giving a go is the True Utility Angle lite mini AAA with 30 lumens or a visit to any diy store as you are not asking for much.

Peak Eiger? US made and lifetime warranty. RSMK and Oveready might be a good place to check them out.
Inova XS may be another option with a decent warranty. I had issues with a X2 that I had and they took care of it.

I'm with Kas1808 - Led Lender P3's have served me well. A little larger than the E05 I think but they do the job with an AAA and they have the flood > spot focus.

I'm interested in alternative AAA keychain lights and was considering the E05, I'll follow this thread!

I'm also interested to know how long you had your E05.

The Spark SK7 is a simple single mode AAA. The knurling pattern is unique and it has an SS bezel ring.

The L3 Illumination L08 is an AAA light and comes in XP-G2 and Nichia 219 flavors. I have the L10 and it is a good value light.

The Maratac copper AAA light is 2 mode. I have one modded by Vinh - he put in an XP-G2 N emitter and I really like it. Flashaholic fun on a 10440.

I also like my Peak Eiger with Nichia 219 mule from Oveready. Very solid and runs on any type of cell. Available with or without the QTC and the momentary switch is a nice option.

There are many, many AAA lights out there and several threads with interesting discussions. Olight i3S, Titanium Inovations CA1-Al, Dereelight DA3, Thrunite Ti2, the list goes on.
