Two Extremely Powerful, Versatile Power Utilities...

Woke up at the wrong hour and did some research on fully automated power control utilities. This programmer wrote a mighty powerful one, and the great news is that it is completely free for personal use. Haven't tried it yet, but it will be on my future Windows 8 Haswell build. :)

Hi, Bill! No, I am sorry, I have not yet tried it.
The program requires .NET and I won't have that until I migrate to my next machine.

I am waiting on the fanless Haswell NUCs.

Like yin and yang, here is its free, tiny, portable counterpart, "Don't Sleep." Coupled with the former, these two programs should take care of all your power needs. After putting my laptop into standby and then doing a copious amount of this because it killed the download that was well on its way to completion, this utility should prevent such silliness.
