Any good? There's not much info there like runtimes.
Can't really go wrong for the price, though of course I don't expect it to beat my TK10:crackup:, but it'd be handy having something that takes 18650 or AAAs (I think that's quite clever with the dual battery system)

Figured there's only one way to find out, and I was right, can't go wrong for the price! I'm not an expert so can only give general first impressions: Feels good and solid and decent enough quality - ok it doesn't feel like a tank like the TK10 but well, it's metallic and thus far it isn't showing any signs of falling apart :P Definitely brighter than my TK10 short range - I'd say even the lowest setting beats the normal setting on the Tank with fresh AAA eneloops in the 7day and fresh CR123s in the Tank. High, mid, low, strobe and sos modes by repeating the clicker switch on the end. It always seems to start in high if it's been off for a bit. Head detatches, foot detatches, and then you have metal tube! Lens detatches so you can swap out the reflector, which is smooth Came with a pre-attached wrist strap, which is nice No manual, no runtimes, no lumen figures, nothing. It's bright *shrug*

BTW the LED chip inside is an XML-U2, not a T6 as the torch's model number would suggest, and has 5 modes rather than the 3 that their site mentions.

Ordered a decent 18650 (Ampmax, which is a relabelled Panasonic) and put this beastie on max for 15 minutes and set it down... (doing this got it a bit warm on a weak Ultrafire)
Picked it up and it was red hot :eek:
I take it that's probably a bad idea and not good for the LED's longevity! Trying to do a rudimentary runtime test (time it until it goes a bit dim, lol) but the higher power modes may well be a case of "use in short bursts only" in the real world.


Is it a bad idea to mix good battery + cheap light?
Also I noticed the light output is warm (yellowish) towards the centre and am kind of hoping that isn't a sign of "you're nuking your LED chip here"...
