I bought a Light Cannon a while ago and it had a problem with flickering, at first. Then, the problem got worse. It started flickering orange and blue throughout the entire time I would use it. So, I sent that light back and asked to have it fixed. 4 weeks later I get the light back (Last night). I put in brand new Duracell C size batteries and turned it on. NO initial problem, but when it was done ramping up, it did not seem near as bright as my other one. One thing to mention is that the light came back in the same box I sent it in, but seemed to be just thrown on the inside of the box without any real good method of packing(just some packing peanuts and a plastic bag). Also, the letter I had enclosed for Underwater Kinetics had not even been opened(yes, the letter was also in the box with it). I took out the light and opened it up only to find a lot of white powder on the inside. This light also came with filters that my last one did not have. So, I did not know if this was my light that was fixed, or a different light all together. To get back to my story, I have run the light for about an hour since last night and it too is beggining to flicker like the last one (don't forget that this one is much dimmer as well). I am pissed to say the least at UK. I don't know if I should send it back again to try and get one that actually works correctly. Has anyone else encountered anything like this? Comments?

Sounds like someone just wanted to get that one out the door. I'd either call or e-mail UK first and get someone from customer service interested in the situation, then, I'd ask if they mind if you send it back and they take a decent look at it. Tell them that you otherwise love the light but are currently "disappointed" - that's never failed me.

I know that the bulb it uses is the same as the one used in the mini-HID. From reading posts about the bulb, I hear that over time, the brightness will increase as some of gases burn off withing the bulb.

Is your light flickering or strobing?

Well, it dosn't turn off completely so I'd say it's flickering. (It blinks bright and then dim repeatedly, that kinda thing.)

Mine only flickers for 40 seconds when you first turn it on. One thing I did notice with all of my HID lights is they seem to have a break in time- Work better after 10 hours on them

I've actually used my previous light for well over 10 hours. It only got worse. Also, the flickering is permanent. It dosn't really have a 40 second start up time, it flickers forever. I had my new (yet still broken) one on for a 2 hour period and it didn't make any difference.

Ya, I kinda guessed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
