UK Vizion..is it out there?

I ordered a UK Vizion headlight from www.brightguy.com .
I'm just curious if anybody owns this light..or did I unknowingly pre-order it?

Wow.. my new UK Vizion headlight should be shipping out later today. I'm impressed.

The UK Vizion is available at REI.

I played with one about a month ago... Neat concept. But I don't like AAA

-Clear optic
-Diffuser lens
-Red Lens

Modding it might be a challenge since it does have an optic. I didn't want to draw too much attention to myself so i limited my look to just a look.

I especially like the fact that the packaging actually had a runtime graph.

It also mentioned something like..
"Energy conservation design transfers heat back into batteries for longer burn time and improved cold weather performance "

The batteries seemed new, and was comparable to the TIKKA XP, but Who knows how long that tikka has been on display.

In case you're wondering why I'm not posting any updates... I bought this light as a Christmas present for myself,and my Mom said she wanted me to wait until Christmas to open up my new UK Vizion.Just thought I'd let you know.I'll post more on Christmas,once I've got my new light unwrapped.

I saw it at my REI today, and played with it quite a bit.

At one point I dropped it, and the batteries fell out. I put the batteries back in, but it didn't work. So, I took them all back out, and noticed a weird "plus" sticker - apparently you need to insert some of the cells in "backwards" with the tip towards the spring side.

The switch has a pretty decent feel. Internally, though, the plastic cover whiich holds the switch to the main light seems a bit flimsy - there's I think three thin plastic tabs which could easily pop off. Might be a good idea to epoxy this to make it sturdier.

Thanks for the pics. Interesting design but as I've said before AAAs will keep me from buying it. I'll have to go put some hands on time at REI to ascess the durability. UK has always made good dive lights.

Happy update:

Unwrapped my new UK Vizion,and I'm instantly smitten. This is one cool headlight.I'm impressed by its color changing ability without snap-on filters.(The lens cover rotates to expose differently-tinted sections,thereby changing the beam color from white to ruby-red.)
