I have a 3LED Matterhorn that is stamped U. I know that this means that it should be an ultrapower. However, I measured light output at about 80 cp at 1 foot. this is somewhat lower than is listed on the Peak site for a highpower.
If I were to get a highpower version of this light, would it be dimmer or brighter? Is there any overlap in light output for the different levels, or do I have a HP that was stamped "U?"

I had two 3-LED Peak Matterhorns. One was marked H and the other U. There was little difference in brightness between them. I don't have a light meter so I cannot perform candlepower measurements.

The H version drew 70 mA and the U version drew 81 mA current.

(Update: The H version failed suddenly. It became very dim and its current consumption dropped by over half. I sent it to Peak in Arizona over a month ago and am still waiting to hear from them.)

How do you do the current draw measurement? I have a multimeter, but have never tried it.
