I just received an Olight I10, and ordered 3 UltraFire 16340's with it.

I am having some strange things going on with these batteries charging in an UltraFire WF-138.

At times, a particular battery won't start charging, and shows 3.8V. After putting it in the flashlight, and running it for a bit, it will measure a higher voltage as for example 4.05v.

This is very weird, and it seems the protection circuits have a problem.

I am trying to take the charger out of the mix, as my AW 16340's charge perfectly, and come off the charger at 4.21v.

I am trying to get some input before I complain to batteryjunction, as they always take care of me, and I don't want to complain for nothing.

But, these batteries seem to have some sort of problem.

Anyone else have issues?

BTW, the Olight I10 is great, EDC carry since I got it.

I charged a pair of TrustFire 16340 cells in a WF-139 tonight and they came off the charger at 4.12v. They were at 3.8v when I put them in the charger.

When discussions of problem cells come up on CPF, 9 times out of 10 they are UltraFire cells.

They are longer than standard and might get squeesed.

I put 2 in a light and when I tightened the tailcap one cell crapped out and shorted internally. Inserted it in the charger and it got ok. Same trick again: 2 cells into the light, turn on and tighten the tailcap. Short again.
