Ultrafire 502b Q5. Vs 502b XML-t6

Hello, I currently have a 502b with the Q5 led, and also an olight T10 so now you know my experience.

I am interested in a thrower, and I am wondering how much better the 502b with the XML-t6 is going to be. Or is it even worth spending the $22 with free amazon prime 2 day shipping?

I am very interested in the new surefire fury and will probably get one after i save up...
should I just save up for it? And forget the 502b?

Ordered one because then lumens are suppose to be alot higher than the Q5, I have 3 - Q5s and will let you know how much difference there is. I did measure
the current draw on the Q5s and found they vary alot on high, I don't have a light meter but can tell the difference, the one that draws the most current is brighter than the other two, I use 18650 in the 502s and they draw 1, 1.15 and 1.6 amp at 4.2 volts.

The XM-L doesn't make much of a thrower in a small, P60 flashlight.

Yes, there will be more lumens and thus more overall light coming out the front but it will be more floody and cover a larger area. It won't go any further, or indeed as far, as an XR-E Q5 or R2 dropin assuming the XR-E is driven around 1A where it should be.

I have a number of dropins for my Solarforce P60 hosts, one being the three mode Ultrafire dropin with smooth reflector, which is a very powerful and bright dropin and lights a large area, but it won't throw quite as far as my XR-E R2 with smooth reflector.

Want a cheapish thrower, get a Solarforce Pro-1.

+1 w/ Blitz regarding the XML as a thrower. Best emitters for a P60 thrower are:

XR-E [probably OPs Q5]
XP-E
XP-C [used in the DEFT EDC]

I have a 502b XML and its bright but not much of a thrower, throws ok for a way because of the sheer output, but quickly drops off, my lenser P7 is much better. I'm going to get a crelant 7G5 for a dedicated thrower.

XML T6 doesn't give you thrower light but it would gives you a brigther ..

If you're interested in a thrower and an XM-L led for the output, the best bang for the buck so far is the Trustfire X9. It has a decent build quality, my Trustfire lights in general have been better than my Ultrafire lights especially the 502b which is kinda cheapy even for a Chinese generic in my opinion.

The X9 is on par with any of the XM-L throwers, and will easily light out to 1000 feet on a dark and clear night. And perform quite well with about 35,000-40,000 lux.

Trustfire X9 is a very good thrower. i just recived it and it can light a house to a distance of aproximate 350 meters.

Skyray STL-V2 or Fandyfire STL-V6 (same light) Two 18650, can't beat it for the price, slightly but noticeably outthrows the X9.
