While surfing the web this morning to check out some deals on 18650 3100 mAh cells, I ended up at the Orbtronic website where I saw an UltraFire A10B Cree 250 Lumen LED Flashlight R2-WC HA-III 5 Mode, selling for $24.00. Just curious to see if anyone here might own one of these lights, or have any info concerning their quality and reliability.

Also noted that they offer: "Protected 3100mAh 18650 Li-ion Battery - Cell Panasonic NCR18650A - Protection ICs- Made in Japan - Top Button" in an Orbtronic wrapper for $12.99. That sure is a good price if these, in fact, are of the same quality as other good Panasonic cells (e.g., EagleTac). Anybody have any experience with these 18650s?

UPDATE: I did order Orbtronic's 18650 (Panasonic, 3100mAh, protected) for $12.99. Battery shipped out promptly, and I'm using it in an EagleTac D25LC2.

Still have a question about the UltraFire A10B ... any info about the quality of this light? Orbtronics offers it for $24.00.

UF lights are something of a gamble. Some members swear by UF, others swear at 'em. It really depends on the model, of which I have no info about the A10. Have you tried a search on CPF?
Yes ... CPF search didn't bring up much. I saw them offered by Orbtronic, and thought about ordering one. I'll probably pass without some useful customer feedback.

FWIW, Dealextreme has these for $13.56 with free shipping. I have one that I picked up directly from the manufacturer....well, almost! I was on a business trip to China almost 2yrs ago and picked one of these up for between $10 and $15. It was my 1st 18650 light. I've had no problems with it and it now resides in my wife's purse. I know it probably isn't the best light for her, but it's definitely better than no light...which she is content with too!

There's an old thread on modding this into an SST-50 light which I intended to do but never did.

I almost forgot to mention...the S-O-S is misspelled on mine. It's actually S-O-O! I find it kinda funny.
