Ultrafire K500L Cree P4 XRE (Lundy)

I just got the Ultrafire K500L Cree P4 XRE (Lundy) from Kaidomain. http://kaidomain.com/WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=1429

Shipping took 12 days.

Fit and finish is good.

Type II Anodize has some spots (not anodized). Looks like it was scratched in some spots.

OP Reflector, aluminum.

Glass lens.

1 stage reverse clickie.

Uses 2, 18650 Batteries. AW's Protected 18650 fit with no problems. Used small magnet to make contact with the Cree Module. Testing purposes to see if the light worked.

Beam tint has slight yellow corona.

At night the Ultrafire K500L beam tint looks like a yellowish slight green tint.

All o-rings came generously lubed.

Thanks for yet another very nice review. Was a bit curious about this light. Thought it should be MUCH brighter. Looks a bit dim for the size and two 18650? What's your opinion?

Yes I thought it would be much brighter than the D-Mini. The D-mini is using 1 Protected RCR123 vs the 2 Protected 18650.

This light seems to be an underperformer.
The body looks exactly like the Super Thrower. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3356
Goes to show you what the right reflector can do. The reflector was designed poorly. There is too much flat space around the emitter. The reflector should be more like a cone. I also heard that the runtime on this sux. Thats just plain wierd since it uses (2)18650.

According to the DX description, it delivers 900mA to the emitter, and two 1800mA batteries last just under 2 hours, that translates to about 900mA from the batteries. That tells me they're just using a Linear Regulator, rather than a buck circuit -- meaning any voltage higher than 3.7 is just bypassed into a resistor and wasted.
