I am totaly new to the world of modding Ultrafire. I have just picked up a Ultrafire WF-502B and did a search of this forum and couldnt find anything on tailcap or head compatability. Do SF products fit? What is a good tapeswitch for this light. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I am reviving an unanswered thread, as I have the same question.

Will this tailcap work on a 502b ?

KD SKU S008003 504B Extension (Grade 3 Hard Oxygen)

Or this add on to it?

KD SKU S009651 Mouse Tail Switch for UltraFire WF-500/600 Flashlights

If so then I believe I could have too much power going to the led? Right?

So what change could I make to get it to work ? I would be willing to buy a drop in or solder on a new led/controller..

I just don't have the money to buy a high end light at the moment, so $19.00 for the light now, and a few dollars on these other parts over time. I can handle... I ordered the light today, it will arrive tomorrow (free amazon prime shipping)

I don't think that tailcap will fit, iirc the tailcap on a 502b is a "male" in that the thread is on the tailcap sticking out, the link (which I'm sure you'll get told off for) is a "female" tailcap where the thread goes in if that makes any sense. I can't help you on the extension tube, but why do you need it? If you know what drop in (led module) is in the 502b that will govern the output, adding an extra cell will increase the voltage, and the run time but probably not the brightness. If you want higher output you want to be swapping for something like am XM-L T6 running of 1x 18650, that will wow you with the output. I have a couple of 502b's they were my first proper "hosts" and they are still giving sterling service, but most of the time now I use Solarforce as the body parts are all interchangable with surefire parts, and their own parts are cheap as chips.

I went looking through the rules to figure out why I would get told off, I guess because I only have 2 posts and one of my first was to a link? so the Advertising problem??? my posts are still having to get approved before anyone see's it. which is the reason I haven't been posting even back when I joined in 2010. I made several posts back then and never could get rid of the red warning. so I went back to lurking...

Thanks for the advise, I am just a newb, but I am excited as my wife just called and said my 502b is sitting on the coffee table waiting for me after work.. :)

edit: YEAH I posted without having to get approved!!!

I am amazed, before this the best flashlight I have ever owned was Coleman Cree lights at Walmart.

I can't believe it's so bright. I highly recommend it, I also got the ultrafire batteries and charger.

If you search for a "Ultrafire Remote Pressure Tape Switch For WF-502B" You will see that amazon has one for 5 bucks with free shipping. Goodluck.

I have looked at that one and concerned because the photos do no show the correct od threads, I guess I will just have to spend the money and take the chances.
