Reminds me of a similar discovery with paintings, particularly frescos. Over the centuries, dirt, old, and darker repainting altered the original artists vision. Then along comes modern restoration, revealing colors that have been seen or even remembered, in 30 generations.

Very cool! I saw something about that on TV (using the same images) but I don't remember them mentioning the UV light angle!
