UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats, but the title "world champion" is a bit of a misnomer for a sport almost entirely played within one country....
Sheesh! How about a little grace for a team, a city and a state that has been waiting a LONG time to revel in such a victory.

And to any that think they can beat the SAINTS I ask..."WHO DAT?"
:grin2:

I'm not much of a sports fan but I'm glad to see that the Saiints won. If there's any city in the US that needs a win in their column, it's New Orleans. I'm very happy for the team and the city. Well done!

First off, I'm not a big sports fan... but that was a great game. And as a metro Detroiter the story of the Saint's gives everyone here hope for our Lions:whistle: Who knows... I'm still young, maybe in my lifetime:crackup: The challange on the 2 point conversion and the on side kick were great moments, but when I saw the pick six... I knew it was over. Congrats NO:party: I can't think of a better year to enjoy Mardi Gras:party:

1wrx7,

Mardi Gras? We don't need no stinkin' Mardi Gras.

We had their Parade this afternoon. This was planned to celebrate winning the NFC title. After Sunday,it turned into a REAL Victory parade.

If anyone is interested in how New Orleans throws a party, check out http://www.wwltv.com/ . I wonder if Indianapolis had 10,000 fans waiting for them at the airport when THEY got back.

Not only great ball players but all genuinely involved in the community helping people too.
First class guys, every one.

Well, having been to the Indy500, I can say that Indianapolis CAN draw crowds and throw a celebration....but NOT like New Orleans.
This year it is Mardi Gras from the SAINTS parade yesterday to REX Parade next Tues Day. I'm just sorry that I can't make it (though my in-laws and one of my sons will be there to celebrate for me).

DoctaDink,

I'd love to go to the INDY 500. With the way things are right now, by the time I get to go they'll all be driving a Prius or something similar.

No one can ever say that New Orleans doesn't know how to party. Heck most of the time, some people don't even need a reason.

It is an uncontested title.. Know of any group out there that thinks they can beat an NFL team?

I imagine any good football team from the rest of the world could if the game played was what most of the world knows as football.
They can even take off their pads if they want but I doubt few of them would last running all the time with no timeouts.

What's up with that "Who Dat" slogan? I don't know the history, or why that became so popular, as it sounds so stereotypically illiterate. Is it slang for "Who Is That?" or "Who's That?" as in the Saints being underdogs?

I imagine any good soccer team from the rest of the world could if the game played was what most of the world knows as soccer.
They can even take off their pads if they want but I doubt few of them would last running all the time with no timeouts.

Appropriate changes made in quote. Personally, I would rather watch paint dry, there's so little definitive action in soccer. They give penalties if one dude looks harshly at another. :poke: I have a lot more respect for rugby or ice hockey as far as being more engaging.

As far as defining an athlete by essentially being a short, skinny cross country or marathon runner chasing after a ball, well that leaves out characterizing athletes/skill/talent in most sports. An NFL football player could throw most any soccer player a good distance in the air, so I guess that means they must be superior. :shakehead

The funniest thing to me is some big name soccer dude I never heard of married to one of the Spice girls moves over to join some team in California I never heard of. To this day, I don't remember either his name or team, and as far as I can tell he got dropped into a black hole never to be heard of again.

What's all this crap doing in a thread congratulating the New Orlean Saints anyway?

Have "yours" suit up and see how much full speed contact they can take.:poke:

First, I'm not a Colt's fan and liked the Saint's all year long and congrat them on their victory, but I want to make the following points:

- If I go up to a black dude in my neighborhood and say
'who dat' it would be considered a racial and derogatory remark and I'd get my a-- kicked. IMHO, 'who dat' may be the dumbest logo for a professional sports team I've ever heard.

- Nobody on the Saints team lives in the lower 9th ward, and non of the ball players are destitute. Most are millionaires. So, I have a hard time understanding what the hell the Saints have to do with hurricane Katrina other than the team name being the same as the City. It would be like the Colt's winning the Superbowl...for all the unemployed factory workers in the Midwest. If it's an excuse to party - so be it. :)

I believe you are referrring to what American's call 'soccer'. Professional world soccer as I recall was called by the BBC the most corrupt sport in history save for cement shoe diving in the hudson. :sssh: I can't stand soccer - just put them on ice, give them sticks, take away the rules, and call it Hockey. Personally I consider Rugby more fun to watch and know a lot of football players that play both.
