Unprotected; rusty stains around +

Hi,

New to RCR123.

Few of my unprotected LIR16340 and Soshine 3V have yellow/rusty color around positive button (on plastic wrapping).

I discharge them until 1.5-2.0v, i hope it's not too much?

What is causing this?

I have a bunch or protected cells but no stains on it.

I don't know about the strange coloring, but you're way overdischarging them.

Hello Gerry,

In general, if you see something that doesn't look right, stop using them.
'
There is a chance that they may have gotten wet with salt water during shipping and what you see may be rust, and then again, the vent seal may be failing.
