The driver/regulator isn't the problem for me at this point. I can get more current, but the Laser output drops rapidly when I go beyond 310ma... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif
Still wondering what Diode PD does - and where is it physically located? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I don't see it on the board.

Yes, I have the same problem.

I think is due to the heat of crystals.
PD and LD is the same diode, it's the 3 pins with 1 commun

I'm not entirely sure that there was a PD (photo diode) in the laser package. The PD can be used to drive the LD in a constant output power mode.

The SLD302V as 3 pins (LD+PD), my leadlight have the same diode with 3 pins.

I wasn't sure if the LD was the SLD302V with a PD or somebody elses without a PD but had connections for a PD.

OK, I went and got the datasheet on the SLD302V. On the GPL-105 driver board they are just using the anode lead of the PD as a mechanical mounting point. They tie it to the same point as the LD cathode. I would assume the small reverse bias on the PD would be of no consequence, but I'm going to try disconnecting it to see if there is any effect.

The ELM 8544 is almost certainly a rip off of Analog Devices' AN8544 rail to rail CMOS op amp.

I have two new 110s on order and as soon as I get my hands on them, based on what I've read here, there are some upgrades in order (pass transistor for sure, red LED bypass resistor or rewiring, etc.) I'll be sure to share my reverse engineering etc with the group
