Updated Streamlight Trident Headlamp

Streamlight has updated their Trident headlamp. Now uses a faceted reflector and xenon bulb as opposed to the previous smooth reflector and krypton bulb. Produces a smooth, bright beam with the Incandescent option selected. The LED option is the same as before. Go here for the full (updated) review:

Now gathers 4 Stars and I would recommend it highly if you need an LED/incandescent option in a headlamp.

NUTS.

I have a green Trident, with the spiffy new reflector, that I bought a couple of months ago. The switching circuit, as you describe, it the new style, but the bulb says "Krypton", and the bulb replacement from brightguy lists krypton, too.

Any chance you could post picutures of the different bulbs?

The bulbs look identical. Same height and width. I believe the krypton had a little red at the base and the xenon was clear, but I would have to take a second look.

It seems SL is updating many of light from smooth reflector to faceted one:-)

Add a layer of writeright to the outside or inside of the lens of the septor to smooth out those rings. Works very well.

I like Streamlight because they always seem be finding ways to improve their products. They also tend to keep quiet about new products until they are actually available. I bet we will see many LED products and mybe Luxeon lights soon. Their Propolymer lights are priced very econimcally and perform so well.

I just wish they would not use a reflector or add a textured relector for the Septor. The rings are annoying when you use it for reading.
