Upper proposed current level for L4 / 5W ?

Can anyone chime in ? Any experience on a recommended higher current level to drive the 5W emitter in the L4 ?

No experience with the L4 yet, but on a similar sized light (2 cell McLux, regular bezel) 750mA was pretty toasty. 1amp killed the luxeon in short order. Given that the L4 has slightly less mass, i wouldnt go over 700mA unless you only use it for short bursts.

dont think its recommended to drive it any higher, i'm sure surefire put a lot of thought into it and found the current level to be the best for heat and runtime
