I found that I am finally included in a cell phone coverage area. I live in a very rural area without DSL or cable so I am stuck with dial-up for now.
I would like to be able to have broadband on my desktop but I don't like what I see about satellite providers.
I am on the edge of Verizon reception and at this point, I'll give it a try.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what aircard to use? Verizon is offering the Pantech UM175 but online reading does not give this unit very high marks. The Novatel Ovation MC760 has a better rating but I don't know anything about broadband over a cell line. Both are USB but I don't need USB, any kind will do.
Does anyone know about outdoor broadband booster/amplifiers? It seems that cell phone boosters do not work for broadband, at least that's what a Verizon tech told me. I've heard mention of yagi antenna but I would need some kind of package deal, not a build from scratch.
Here is device I found. http://www.usantennashop.com/appendicies/datasheets.html 8 to 11db. Anyone?
Oh to be able to view utube
