Vortex kc1 pic.....

I bought the Vortex kc1 from Aten Imago.It's a good light for the price and very bright for a low dome.The beam is white with no green at all,although a tad on the blue side and has very good throw.It is however bigger than I expected as you can see.I thought being a cr2 light it would be smaller.I'm not posting beam shots because Aten already has.Instead I have a comparison with an arc ls. web page

Wow, the Vortex is quite large for a cr2 light.
It looks like an Arc-LS with a twisty switch would be the same length (or shorter) and have a smaller diameter.
It looks like I will be passing on this one.

Yeah,it's a little bigger than I thought,but at the same time,it is as bright as an arc ls,the throw is great,and will retail at under $60.That should mean you'd probably be able to find it for around $50.Aten told me that Vortex said they "should" be out next month,but you know how projected dates go.I posted early on that I wondered if this would challenge the FF because it was a cr2 for under $60,but like I said,because of it's size,it would best be compared to an arc ls.

Did you see the above link provided by Aten_Imago? He reviewed it with beamshots.I really like it.It is every bit as bright as an arc ls at half the price.The beam is a little ringy towards the outside but that's not noticable in the "real world",only on a whiye wall.

SUPPOSED to be this month,but you know how that goes.I'm really liking this light.Very bright and because of the price I don't mind it getting nicked up by my keys.It's also quite obvious that they made this light to be easily modded because there are 4 tiny screws holding the retaining ring in instead of some impossible to remove screw in ring!
