Ok I want another sure fire may buy it used on here if one is available in like new condition. I am torn between an A2, L4, and L1. If A2 don't know which color. I already have a E2D, U2, and G3 w/BOG Q5. No particular reason for the new light maybe edc but i love the E2D for edc. Any ideas or thoughts would be great.

I own the A2, L4 and the L1 (Cree), and out of the three the A2 is my favourite. It is also my EDC. There are plenty of threads detailing the wonders of the A2, so I won't go into them again, but rest assured it makes a very useful, versatile EDC

So, unless something specific about the L4/L1 interests you, I would say go for the A2. The L4 gives a beautiful wall of light; the beam is almost enitirely flood. Not much use a distance but great for close-medium range. The A2 is a bit larger than your E2D, so if you don't want to go any larger than that then i suppose you're only choice left out of those three is the L1. However, I find the size of the A2 to be perfect. I don't notice it in my pocket at all. The long pocket clip really helps, too.

As for the LEDs in the A2, I'd suggest white if it is going to be your EDC. The other colours are far more usage specific and won't be as useful in general, day-to-day tasks. The possible exception to this would be the red LEDs, in my opinion. It boils down to what you value more: a nice low beam for indoor/close illumination for general tasks, or a red light to preserve night vision that won't be as useful elsewhere.

Whichever you choose, you're getting a great light

I suggest getting an L1 (rather than A2 or L4).
I stopped using an A2 as my EDC when I got an L2, and now I'm happy to use an L1. It fits neatly into my hand and is really easy to use with it's similar two-stage switch. The beam is solid and useful and I seem to get longer runtime from the L1 than I did with the L2 or A2.

I suppose a point to consider if you're choosing between the L1 and A2 is whether the regulated incandescent of the A2 appeals to you. You get LED and incandescent (regulated, at that, so it stays white and bright for the life of the batteries) in one package. Better colour rendition, I prefer incadescent lights for outdoor usage. If you don't mind just having LED output, then the L1 may be more suited to you.

I would go for the A2 in white! I say this because you are carrying an incan now - the A2 gives you incan whilst letting you have a nice flood type beam on low which lasts for hours!

Just get the M6.

What? Like you didn't see that coming, Big Foot, Brozneo, & Tempest? haha.

I'd say if you don't own one, you should try the A2.

Two distinct beam patterns in one package make it very useful. And all the mystique of the A2 that you read about here is justified. It's the classiest production light ever. I love mine.

The L1 probably throws as well as the A2, but the low is not as useful.

Just one man's opinion (I'm right, though).

Cheers

I have them all and the L1 CREE is, by far, the most usable light IMO. Get the L1 first then you can EDC it while you take your time getting the others.
Have fun doing it.
:twothumbs

My vote is 60% in favor of the L1 Cree and 40% in favor of an A2 with your choice of LED color (I prefer yellow/green, but they're kinda dim). The L1 fits in your hand perfectly, at least, if your hands aren't huge mitts. The A2's regulated incan is pretty cool, too, though. Is your use going to be more outdoors or indoors?

I'll also vote for the M6.
It's the one thing you'll get eventually no matter how level headed you may think yourself. Getting it earlier is only a money saving skip across all the other options that'll point you towards this inevitable end anyway.

I am planning on getting an M6 definatley with the crenalated bezel just because it looks so cool lol.......But I would like to expand the smaller light collection first I have been rotating my e2d and U2 every so often for edc but some of my jeans the U2 makes for a tight fit in the pockets so back to the E2D. I just need another toy I already plan to order a e1e in a day or so plus one of the above mentioned lights.......

Starting to lean towards the A2 but what color led I am not crazy about the angry white (Blue hue) or the white leds as it looks like a generic led flashlight when on. Maybe blue or green Cant decide o the dilema havent ruled out the white leds though or the L4 L1 either

Not many people go for the blue LEDs in the A2. It is quite a specialized colour with limited use for most people. Green may be a better choice. Yellow-green (A2-HA-YG) is also a reasonably popular choice that you may want to consider.

I was thinking that but I read on here that yg is the dimmer of the a2 leds. I dont really want anything low wise thats less then my U2's low which is very useful

It was my understanding that y/g was the brightest to the human eye? But you cant go wrong with white, its great for walking down trails or night trips to the head.imo

I believe that because the human eyes are most sensitive to yellow-green light so you don't need as much of it compared to white or other colours.

Don't beat around the bush, just buy them all at once, you know you'll end up with them all anyways.
