WANTED - 1x18650 Torch

I got my ultra insane thrower. Got my edc with infinitely variable pocket light for night flights and pre/post flight inspections. Now I need a good thrower with good spill in a one cell form factor.

Any help?

What do you need to resolve at what distance with the good throw? An example or 2 would help as good means different things to different people.

When you say spill...do you mean the unfocused light or the beam width?

I guess I did go on a mini break. Got the galaxy note 3 and this thing does so much that it will take me 10 months to learn it all.

Looking for decent distance, say 200 meters with good spill for walking and seeing things up close. I think i saw the m22 has different heads you can put on for distance versus spill.

Looking for a one cell 18650 but the pd35 with two cells stacked isn't out of the question.

user interface is a big deal. I need a super low mode, preferably with variable control for use with night vision aids.

I'd like something Wayne could modify. A super turbo high for 20 seconds would be nice.

A ui with always on high or first on switch is high will never work for me. Excellent light discipline is always needed.

don't need strobe.

Budget is unrestricted.

To sum it up, best jack of all trades light but a master of none.

That does look like a nice light. I guess it is a matter of preference. It is definitely more compact than the M22, by about 1.6"

The difference between The M22 and the Zebralight, EA4, PD35 and many others is that the step down[they all seem to have them!] on the M22 is gradual between 6 and 8 minutes and is unnoticeable to the human eye! It goes from around 860 lumens to 640 and will stay around 640 until the battery weakens in about 55 minutes "OR" you can step up again and have an output somewhere between the max and the output where step down begins!

I have probably mentioned this too many times! Most of the manufacturers boast how many lumens their lights produce, when in reality it is only a temporary boost! The PD35 even steps down to medium after 30 minutes!
The EA4 which I have steps down from turbo in 3 minutes,,,,you can step up several times[I have done it] but the manufacturer does not recommend it because of possible damage to the light because of excessive heat.

With all that said it goes back to preference and what people use the light for. a lot of people probably don't care if it steps down and you lose half the out put. I am obviously not one of them!

I'd be hard pressed to pretend that the SC600 has a 200 yard range though....its a very floody light, and is excellent out to maybe closer to 60 yards, than to 200 yards.

I'll know later today, after the mail is delivered, but I have a hunch the Nitecore P15vn may be able to reach out 200+ yards. It has pretty good intensity numbers in its stock form, before Vinh gets a hold of it. I ordered mine with a neutral XP-G2, boosted, so it should out-throw the stock numbers.

M22-23,256cd/305m throw. It is a little bit more than 3.5X More Candela than the SC600. :cool:

Vinh has made the EA4 obsolete, IMO, with his release of the D40Avn. Same size light, much better throw, much more overall output and much much better UI. I put diffusion film on my EA4W as soon as the D40Avn came in. It's now a pretty good 4xAA flooder.

IMO not everybody wants their lights modded! Pros and cons for everything!
