There must be a switch that can be used on the C2, 6p style of lights, right? Is there a model number for it? I don't see anything on the Surefire website that talks about it being available aftermarket. But does anyone know what I would ask for? thanks,

Del,

You need TailCap housing 11690-1 and a tape pressure switch Sxx (where xx = cable length in whole inches).

What is your intended weapon's mount? If it is for an AR15 or similar then AR15.com has a forum specifically for this sort of thing.

Good Luck!

Al

You could always consider a cheaper option from Pelican

It seems to work well

Some people over at AR15.com are using that switch. Does it come in the right length cable? (or can you tidy the cable away?)

Al

Really the cable could do with being a few inches longer and a bit more substantial (personal view for the rifle I mounted it on) but it is cheap and does the job, although maybe not as well as the SF option.

The "Sxx" switches come in a wide variety of lengths. I believe I am seeing an "internet posting user" trend away from tape pressure switches to Click switches such as the Z48/Z49/SW02.

I think you are right, I've seen several mentions of weapon mounted lights being used with a clickie, seems surprising as it's not a very subtle use of light.

Al,

Thanks, I had a feeling you might answer this one for me. In actuallity, it probably will be going on a paintball gun. So I have to figure out a barrel mount for it. But the switch info is great.

Spike, or Al,,,

Will the Pelican tail cap by chance fit the Surefire threads? And what is the Pelican lights model number? Thanks,

The Pelican tape switch is...PEL-2326 Pelican M6 Remote Pressure Switch.
The picture above is the pelican on a 6p with a shock isolated bezel, it fits perfectly and works well. The cable and switch are 21cm in length.

that means a surefire-tailcap should fit on a PM6? would be a great way to get rid of the cr*p standard switch

Both Tailcaps are interchangeable. The Pelican Tailcap works flawless on the SureFire while the SureFire Tailcap screwed on the Pelican Light didn't allow me to turn the light onto "constant on" when I have just checked it to confirm. But this could be different with different Tailcaps (I have used a non Lockout Standard Tailcap for testing) or different (longer?!) Batteries. Seems to be an issue of fractions of a milimeter.
