Well. Looks like someone has done it. Laser and led module in one package. See www.lasermodule.com . Needs some improvement for me to switch from Surefire. The unit has a light output of 4,000 cdm(sic). They also have green laser modules @ 25Mw.
Something similar has come up before... LEDs in a lasersight. If you check out the surefire board, they really criticized the use of LEDs as replacements for incandescent lights when used in tactical situations. Not enough light..... Let's see if I can find the CPF thread...
Thanks Doug. You are right of course. The output is not up to par for a tactial use. I threw this in just to show that at least some advances are being made in the use of led's. Still aways to go.
