It runs on two AA batteries and it is a pretty good little light but more power is always a good thing, no? I guess you can tell by my question I don't know exactly what all you can do to a flashlight and I don't want to do any cutting or soldering but if there is a simple upgrade to make it brighter, I would love to hear about it. Thank you for any input

You have had no response in the CB&M section, so I'll move this to LED Flashlights for you. Maybe you'll have more luck there.

If you can open the head (strap wrench and heat) you can swap the led.

If it is a luxeon version you can use a Seoul P4, Cree xp-e or Cree xp-g led and get at least double the output.

If it is the 2.0 version with a Cree XR-E you can just upgrade to a better led of the same type and get slight increase in brightness (not worthwhile imho)

How about a 14500 with a dummy AA cell, has anyone tried this? I don't have a dummy cell or I would give it a try. This is just an idea I have never tried it but thought I would put it out there and see if anyone else has.
