2 Maglite Solitaire incans at an estate sale for a dollar. Both work + still have the spare bulb in the tail cap. My how key chain lights taken a leap forward. Still something about them just looks, works & feels right

I'm not usually superstitious, but about a week ago I said to myself there were 6-7 examples of very hard-to-find flashlights I needed to bring my collection much closer to being complete. Then over the course of about 72 hours I found them all. Not sure what to make of this.

Looking forward to your seeing your additions.

One year I typed "pentagon light" in the search bar at eBay and it rained Pentagon's for like a week. For kicks & giggles I searched for an X1 and 5 minutes later one was in the basket. It happens sometimes. One summer it was Kel-Lites.

Do you actually have an end in site for your collection? As in it being complete? That's impressive. The more I collected the more I wanted so I just turned off the spigot one day. I get notified about stuff from friends at times but as a rule I'm not collecting anymore.

Yeah, things tend to comes in waves don't they? "Complete" is relative but I'm fairly close to having a collection that tells the story I want, so I'm feeling good about it. Most of what I could use now is either esoteric stuff or minor model variations.

Main problem I've had the last few months is that the IQ of sellers has dropped off a cliff. Someone says "No battery leakage, clean as whistle, like new inside." Then I get a light that's corroded out from one end to another, maybe has a stuck battery for good measure. Of course I can always get a return, but if it's a unique example I just have to eat it for the greater good.

I just got an Eveready 2D incan from about 1965 in great shape. Lens, head, reflector, body & tail cap undamaged & I hope ready for 2 new batteries. Cost all of $.50, cheap for a bit of time traveling

Just bought a couple Maglites in 3C and 3D. I like the lights. I’ve been a mag fan since the 80s. However, I think their website sucks more than any other website I’ve seen. What is this fluffy Marketing BS about being a lifestyle brand. It’s an effing flashlight, not a lifestyle. I want real information and technical specifications, not marketing BS. i’ve tried emailing mag and my most recent response claimed that their flashlights only run on alkaline batteries. This is more BS than I can handle in a day. How can they have employees working for a flashlight company who are so ignorant of flashlight knowledge?

Maybe they are working for a paycheque. A machinist gets on at Mag because hey its only a town over, etc. I had one company tell me to ask the forums in other words BLF or CPF.

i bought a nitecore ea42 to replace old friends light that i bought him years ago. it got dropped into some machinery where he works. he asked if i could turn it in, but i told him they didn't make them any more. i did find one online, so we will see when it gets here. i was going to suggest a neck lanyard, but i would rather replace a flashlight than a good friend.

Bought it yesterday.... Lumintop THOR 3 LEP flashlight.
Very good price for an LEP, but from YouTube reviews it seems to easily keep up with more expensive LEPs in terms of performance.
