Something scary happened to me a few years ago. I put three AA alkaline batteries in an electric shaver, and it would not turn on. When I checked the batteries, I noticed that they were very hot. I became worried and threw them out. When I put in another set of batteries, the shaver worked normally.

Does anyone know what might have happened?

A high resistance cell or a shorted cell may have caused extreme heat buildup.

Or you may have reversed polarity on one , or maybe all of them.

Let us know if you have something more recent to resolve .
