What Li-Ion batteries to use with G2 and G3 w/ KR-1 extender kit?

I just got a KR1 kit from B/S/T, a complete kit with extender body, battery and charger, I know I can use the extender and battery to make my G2 rechargable, but I really bought it mainly for the extender so I can run a rechargable LI-ION solution for my P91 LA

what's the best setup for a G2/G3 with the body extension?

I realize that there may be a need for a dummy battery or dummy half-cell spacer, what would be the reccomended rechargables for this setup?

and one more silly question, is there a bezel adapter that would fit the front of the extender, so I could create a "stubby" "G1N Nitrolon" with my Lighthound Cree and a 3.7V Li-Ion....

The extender for the KR1 kit is not really going to be a good solution to using li-ion cells, I'm not even sure if it has the inside diameter necessary. It is designed to take the stock G2 internal length of about 66mm and make room for a pack that is about 112mm long, so the G2 +KR1 extender becomes the length of about 3.5 CR123 cells.

You could theoretically use a pair of 17500 cells, and build up a 1/2 cell spacer for the G2, (or use a charging spacer that you get with li-ion cell chargers wrapped up in electrical tape)... But I honestly do not know if that extender has the inside diameter necessary for 17mm cells... See it was designed for use with a 4x2/3A NiCD stick, and 2/3A NiCD cells tend to be about 15mm in diameter, even thinner than CR123s. If I were personally the one designing an extender for those cells, I would make it skinny on purpose to keep it from rattling around. The other issue is that even if 17500 cells fit, you can't run a P91 on them. sorry :(

If you use the extender on the G3, then you will have the length of 4.5 CR123 cells, so you will still need to use a 1/2 cell spacer to fill in a gap. But instead use it with a pair of 17670 size li-ion cells. Again this is assuming that the KR1 extender will even fit 17mm cells.

To be honest you would have been much better off with some standard 1 cell extenders ( like some of these http://www.lighthound.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=193&Page=1 ), a single 1 cell extender on the G3 and it would have been a simple drop-in solution for a pair of 17670s. A pair of those extensions on the G2 and again, it would have been a drop-in solution.

measure the inside diameter of the KR1 extension tube before proceeding.

I'll eventually get a Detonator extender, the main reason I wanted to try the KR1 was because of the Nitrolon construction, it seemed to be a better cosmetic and physical match

my BatteryStation RCR123's slide through freely, as do the SF primaries, the B65 is a slightly tight fit, but not too bad

worst comes to worst, I'll just pick up another G2 and turn it into a rechargable, i figure the G2 LED would work nicely with the KR1
