Did you also notice that the company that sells this light, also has a push button switch activator for the MM? Part#9060. From the picture, it doesn't seem like the RAM switch. I wonder if it's more reliable.

Old school! I was talking up this light at Bladeforums before I started CPF. There are even more lights from this defunct company (Tekna). A 4AA (Which started my flashaholism) A 2 N cell and possibly a 2 CR123 cell light. Never got straight answers from the owners of the last 2 lights. And they didn't want to part with them.

Back to the 7004. I had 2 of them. Even after 'hotrodding' them with krypton bulbs I wasn't satisfied with the beam quality and brightness. So I gave them to my kids. Who knows where they are now.

They use the 222/223 screwbase bulb. Dorcy's 41-1664 bulb is krypton and improves beam color and brightness. But not by much.

There are LED replacement bulbs for this now. There might be room for a luxeon. I don't know.

When the Kroll for the Mini-Mag first hit the CPF scene the weaknesses were quickly apparent. I suggested that tailcap. It was described the same or worse as the Kroll in function. And cost more. So the idea was dropped.

Good thing I didn't buy this switch. Would have been a lot of bucks down the drain.

David, I was going to say the same thing, I have seen these for years in US cav and Quartermaster. I really wanted the knife with the light in the handel when I was in boyscouts, but mom vetoed it saying "your going to cut your hand off or something".
