I've yet to find a light that feels more comfortable in my hand than the Surefire E2*/L4 with a McTC.

Single CR123A and Single AA lights are my favorite for EDC lights. I prefer 2XCR123A for long term usage though.

I apparently have big hands; I like 3-6D Mags for carrying on night walks, although they can be a little trouble to carry when you need both hands free. (If I had to pick one, I'd go with 4D, for off-shoulder convenience.)

I carry a 2C Mag61 in a jacket pocket, and I think one cutdown to 1x26700 would be the best for this role I've actually handled. I think a fat 3x18650 (LegionII, WF-1300L, etc. style) would be an even better coat-pocket light, but I'd think it'd be a bit on the heavy side for walking around with it in your hand -- I'd need to carry one a few days to decide.

For pocket/belt lights, I like 1x18650/3xAAA size best.

I prefer compact lights, especially CR123. But they must be comfortably to operate.

It would either be a 1D Mag or a 2C Mag

1D Mag, I can use a single D cell liion cell for looooooong runtimes
plus I have a number of options with different cells, 18650, C li-ion
and at a push 3 x AA

2C Mag, it just feels right in my hand

My actual EDC is a Novatac 120 with a 17670 tube

New L1 with the old style head. Pretty hard to drop, not too big and not too small. 6P is very nice too. 17670 or 18650 with a M30.

I personally like a smaller 18650 sized light with a tail clickie, either a tube, or a tube with a slightly larger bezel.

For a smaller light, a small 1 AAA light is good.

I really like the new Ra clickys and Twistys. long enough that my hand doesn't get in front of the beam, small enough to have with you always. I really like the single cell feel.

Single cells. Three of my last four purchases have been 1XCR123. The fourth is an L2D CE for which I have a L1D body on the way from Lighthound.

While I like little lights for EDC, I do like to wield a 4D Mag once in a while. Compared to my other lights its a club.:twak:

in my limited experience, 6p. great shape, nice knurling, good balance, and easy to use tail switch. i'm thinking about having mine bored out to accept 18650 batteries. a fenix t10 i held at a gunshow a couple of weeks ago also felt very good in hand.

I have a love affair with my SureFire L1 Lumamax 1 X CR123, everything about it make it a terrific light. Although their stock performance sucks, the Mag Lites C series, AA series and AAA series are wonderfully stylish.
The 2 X CR123 P SF lights seem like the perfect form lights.:party:

Today I would have to say my favorite form factor is the Nitecore EX10, and my second is my Fenix L1T V2 but it's much harder to keep a hold of.

The Surefire E1B would probably be my favorite if I had one but it's not worth $150 to me.

I agree with many others here, the 2x123 formfactor is very good for a general use flashlight. I use 6P clones plus battery tubes (e.g., to be able to use the 1x18650). Basically it replaces the old "standard" general flashlight which was a 3xD Maglite and such.

For urban EDC i like the L1D and the UF A10.
