When was the Luxeon first released?

Thinking back to about 2002 when nobody had ever heard of a 3 watt LED, people were drooling over the Arc LS with a 3 digit price tag, and China was just a place where foreign people lived. :D Just curious, when were the 1 and 5 watt Luxeons first released? Did Lumileds make lower output LEDs prior to that?

Luxeon i still a unknown word here in Norway ;)

i think i`m the only one that use them :)
I have luxeon for outdoor light, I have warm-hvite luxeon indoor for kitchen light.
I have Luxeon 5V flashlight, I have many Luxeon 3W flashlight for mi child, and I use Luxeon as STROBE light on my Heli :)

I just love luxeon !!! dont love the price :o
