Hello there, not sure if I am in the right section but if I am not then please redirect me in the right direction. I am in the process of putting together a surefire 6p bored with a malkoff m61 drop in. I am also switching out the tailcap switch to a mcclicky.

I want to run rechargeables in this setup and pretty much narrowed it down to AW 18650 protected cells. Which mah should I get or does it matter? I see that there are several different, from 2200 mah to 2600 mah to 2900 mah. Should I get the highest one which pretty much means will last the longest right? As you can see I am a newbie still researching and learning. Please educate me. Thanks guys.

The AW 18650 is a good choice in any of the available capacity options. I have a 2900 mah that I'm happy with but the downside is the premium cost compared to the lower capacity cells. If you need the maximum runtime then the 2900 is your cell. Otherwise you can save a few bucks with a 2200 or 2600. All the AW cells are of good quality.

For capacity, the 2900 is best
For fit, the 2600's vary and only fit bored lights 98% of the time
For + compatibility the 2200 and 1600 (IMR) are best
For max reliability, the 1600/IMR is best (no PCB)

For your setup, the only one not to get is the 2600
