Which brand is longer lasting?

no discharge statistic testing yet... but I would go with Panasonic Evolta, and I have, since a few months ago. This particular Energizer e2 Advanced (especially the AA, which is made in Singapore) is very prone to leaking. The Energizer e2 Advanced AAA size which is made in USA seems to be less leaky tho..

On normal direct driving 5mm LED that I've tested, 2 x AA setup, I experience the following (longer lasting to the right!)

Energizer e2 < Sanyo < Duracell copper-top < Panasonic Evolta

I hope to complete my alkaline discharge testing by Jan 2010, then I will know for sure with numbers to show and tell. :grin2:

I agree with you Trance. Still, in the 5mm Led example rookiedaddy presented, these alkaline cells would most likely outlast any of the NiMH's.

That said, I just don't use alkaline's any more, because of their poor performance at higher discharge rates, and the "leak factor". When I don't want to use rechargeables, I go with L91's or L92's.

Hmm, didn't know they were still selling the E2 Advanced. In my opinion, it's like false advertising because E2 was the name for their lithium batteries, yet this is an alkaline. I'm glad they've dropped that line here in the US.

I agree, if they have Energizer Advanced Lithium or Ultimate Lithium, get those instead.
