I have a Streamlight Twin Task 2L. I am using 2x rechargeable cr123 batteries. Each battery is rated at 3.0v I burn out my original Twin Task bulb due to stupid charger overcharging battery each time. Question is, is there any bulb out there I can buy that will fit the Twin Task's Bi-pin base? Someone told me once that I can use the streamlight strion or stinger bulb but i'm not sure if it'll fit. I don't mind if I have to drill out the reflector to make it bigger, I just need it to fit the base. I need a bulb that can handle at least 6 or more voltage. I'm not an expert when it comes to electricity but I am guessing if I have 2x rcr123 at 3.0v each, when fully charge, it's discharging about 6-7 voltage; maybe more. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you for any reply.

Which brand of batteries and charger are you using. I use to use the Powerizer 3.0v RCR123 batteries and charger with no problems. The Stinger bulbs will not work...the legs on the bulb are too short.

i am using some brand i got off a random site that says it is safe and will not overcharge. it works fine but one day i accidently left the batteries in the charger for about a day and a half and i guess that overcharged it completely. but prior to that i would leave the batteries in for a few hours after the green has come on and it works fine. can i solder somehow to make the legs on the stinger bulb longer? but would the stinger bulb be able to handle higher voltage? what about any other bulbs out there that can work? thanks.

would using 1 rechargeable 17650 battery with the stock bulb or a strion bulb work?
