I need a new tactical flashlight and am undecided on the Fenix model that would do me right. I'm looking for something 150 lumens or more, decent battery life (battery type doesn't matter TOO much...something readily available and not outrageously expensive), IPX rating of 7 or 8 and preferably under $120 or so. I would entertain a Surefire model as well, I'm just not quite as familiar with them as I am Fenix.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much.

All of the Fenix lights are IPX-8.
You could go with either the TK21 or the TK15, depending on your preference.
XM-L or XP-G...

Those are just two of many many great options out there...

Hi. I have Fenix TA20 which has 225 lumens and I use it on my 12 gauge. It has 2 heavy springs on both sides. The UI has a ring on that you twist for low, medium, high and strobe. You don't twist the head and you can get a pressure switch. Very durable and has survived over 1000 rounds of 5.56 and 12 gauge buck/plug using 3 1/2" high brass shells. Having said that I will say for a couple of bucks more you can get a 4sevens g5 that has MUCH MORE power and throw.

Consider the LD40, runs on 4 AA batteries, has 248 lumens, and nice long runtimes. Add to this the nice neutral white color, and you'll have a flashlight that will suit your needs well. :)

I believe Fenix's best value light is the E21. Foward clicky, very simple/uncluttered UI (two modes lol...though the low could be lower), and it puts out a lot of light. It runs on 2AAs, has good throw and pretty good flood for a smooth reflector.

While the product description rates it at about 150 lumens, I believe I read somewhere here that someone tested it and came up with 205. (Truthfully I believe it because the brightness seems very similar to the Q AA2 Tactical I used to have.) And all Fenix lights I've ever come in contact with just feel so well built.

Only 38 bucks. http://www.4sevens.com/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=2421

At one point last year I had every Fenix light they made....

I have given away a fair few but I have always loved the PD20 / TK41 and PD30/PD31.

The PD20 probably gets the most use because of its small size.

I still have TA21 TK11 PD10 TK40 LD01 (times 3) EO5 EO1 (times 2) LD20

There's a lot of lights in the Fenix range. If you could break down your useage I think you would get more helpful responses. What do you plan to use it for? What type of cells do you want to use? Do you have a minimum or maximum size restriction? Will it be weapon mounted?

The TK and TA series lights are very tough lights but a little chunky. The LD or PD series are probably better for pocket carry.
