Probably the Streamlight Jr Luxeon because it's easier to design good thermal management from the ground up than it is for a drop-in replacement bulb.

I have both. The Streamlight is way brighter. Great light. I doubt that the run times would be close. Can't have every thing.

It'll depend on the "drop in." There's quite an assortment out there.
I'll have my Jr in a couple of days, but I'll be very surprised if it's as bright my sandwiches with R2Hs running from 400mA to 900mA+.

Most commercial drop-ins lack any serious heatsinking.

I don't really understand what you're saying about my post. I don't know if you consider Wayne's sandwiches a commercial product or not. My post is about them and the heatsinking is adequate.
There are 100s, if not 1000s of them in use by CPFers and problems are rare. If you're running a hot rodded version, then common sense dictates use.
The question was, "Which is brighter?" My answer is the same, it depends on the module. A R2H ranked HD Lux running at 400+mA will be brighter than a P or Q LD running at <400mA. It will take some really **** poor thermal management to screw with that fact.
