Which makes a better reflector?

I am trying to decide what to make my reflector out of. Which is more efficient, polished Al, or plastic with silver paint. Plastic is lighter, cheaper, easier, and does not conduct electricity, so unless there is a significant difference in efficiency, I think plastic would be better. What do you all think? Let me know.

Why bother making one at all when you can buy a perfectly fine reflector for $5 or less? Those are plastic, of course.

In terms of efficiency, the size and shape of the reflector have much more to due with the efficiency than the base material does.
