I haven't seen enough of the new fenix to vote. But I can say that the P10A is EagleTac's weakest flashlight. Pretty much every other one of their lights has remarkable output, but this is, well, mediocre.

Actually, the P10a is rated 130lms, and the LD10 120 lms. Im 99% sure the eagletac has more throw due to larger reflector.

Or so you would think. Check out light-reviews.com. I'm not counting the P10A on a 14500 since it isn't regulated on high. With a NiMh, the output and beam are almost identical to the L1D Q5 on turbo. Yes, it has more throw - but by only ~250 lux. And the runtime is ~50 minutes for the EagleTac vs ~90 minutes for the Fenix.

And that's compared to the L1D Q5, not the LD10. The LD10 has a new reflector which will throw even further - further than the eagletac.

Don't get me wrong though. I'm very impressed by pretty much every other light EagleTac offers - I have a T10L on order, and possibly later a P10C. This one model just seems like a disappointment in terms of output.

As for overall lumens, I don't think those numbers mean much. While MrGMan has proven that EagleTac's P10C2 and Fenix's T1 lumen ratings are spot on, he has also proven that their L2D Q5 and P10A2 ratings are quite a bit off. And the latter two are the lights using AA batteries.

The Fenix LD10 has a long history.
L0P Luxeon single level;
L0P SE, Luxeon 3 levels;
L0D, Luxeon 3 levels + strobe + SOS;
L0D CE, Cree XRE P3 to... 3 levels + strobe + SOS;
L0D Q4, Cree XRE Q4 3 levels + strobe + SOS;
L0D rebel, Lumileds rebel 3 levels + strobe + SOS;
LD01, Cree XRE Q5 3 levels.

This series of lights have stood the test of time while all competitors except one have fallen by the wayside.

The Eagletac is a relatively new company and we do not have much in the way of long term reliability reports.
