on the side of my ARC LSH, it says LSH-S 052. I think the 052 is the serial number but what does the S following the LSH indicate?

That means it's a standard as opposed to a premium, which has P or Q flux Luxeon only (brighter).

What's the rating of the lumen output of the LSHP? It seems ARC doesn't give these ratings.

Hmmmm... if memory serves correct, the Q-4J Luxeons are over 30+ lumens (I'm probably understating this, but that's what I remember reading somewhere here) -- there is a difference between the chosen nichia LED for each light, therefore a "printed" rating in terms of Lumens would be somewhat inappropriate. So I suppose a general classification of output would be better fare for the LSH-P's.

Yeah I remember seeing the "30 lumens " before but I just can't belive this is true. I mean I know the LSHP is brighter but if mine is truly 30 lumens I 'd LOL in the dream. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

does anyone recall what the difference in the standard and p versions actually is. Other than hand selected which isn't much to really go on.

For Arc LSH or LSL
Standard= M,N flux 3,4 tint
Premium= P,Q flux 3,4 tint

Flux (in Lumens)
M = 13.9 to 18.1
N = 18.1 to 23.4
P = 23.5 to 30.6
Q = 30.6 to 39.8

I wonder how to tell which version I have. It seems as though they should indicate with each light which led value it is. There is a huge difference between m and q, almost like a different light. So if I got a high n value(23.4) with my standard version, it seems as though I could get a low p (23.5)in the premium version and gain nothing really. That doesn't seem to be a very appropriate value system, in music it would be the same as an A flat versus a B plus, which means it would be the same, drat. Unless there is something I'm missing, paying a big premium for potentially no gain doesn't make any sense.

Contact Vicomptel Inc. Thys told me what they had in stock in premiums. Q3k. IL ordered one, got it, and like it. Nicer than my LSH-S, brighter and whiter. Price, $114.00

I just ordered a LSH-P version from Dan at Tactical Warehouse and he put a Q4 in the mail for me today. I can't wait to compare it to my S version, I may have something to sell unless I can't bring myself to sell it.
