Why do you carry?

I carry my new E2e and always have a Victorinox Swisstool, excellent combination, if only I could fit my L6 in my pocket /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've carried small lights (solitaire, photon and the like) for years. Just recently I've started carrying brighter ones like the ARC LS and or a modified Dorcy 1AA (dubbed the Magnum by someone else). The brighter lights are used even more than the small ones.

Are the bigger lights used more because they are carried on my belt or is it because I can light up something across the room or across the street? I don't know. I do know that I don't see well in dimmly lit rooms, and that the flashlight helps me make out details with ease.

I EDC a Victorinox MiniChamp and Arc 4+.

Why Victorinox MiniChamp? I like to be prepare. I used to EDC a Victorinox SwissLite (red LED) and find it too dim. Then got a Wenger MicroLight Esquire (uses Photon technology) and find it brigher but still too dim. Then I wanted more features on my knife and no longer need the light so I went with Victorinox MiniChamp.

Why Arc 4+? Well, I love the size and features of the Arc 4+, used to EDC an Arc LSH-P then moved to Arc 4+.

Mainly because I work a lot of nights and prefer being able to see my "clients" and areas that are under the control of my "clients"; with the help of this site, I may yet find a lighting tool to rival those issued to the various Star Trek crews!

I am having difficulty convincing my wife that it is a good idea to have an EDC small bright light when I am off duty, however.
