Why do you keep your old lights?

I don't sell my old lights because I doubt I could get enough to cover the cost of shipping for most of them, and the only flashaholic-level old light I have is one I want to someday mod with a newer LED (Pelican M3). In the meantime, it lives in my car as a backup light. My cheap old lights just gather dust in a closet.

...What some of these responces got me to thinking was when do you use and what do you use your old light for?

I use most of my old lights for the exact same tasks I originally bought them for. Whether it's navigating the inside of the house at 4 AM or lighting up the source of a strange noise at the end of the block the tasks and the lights I bought to accomplish them remain unchanged.

As mentioned previously I tend to stash the overflow in various kits -- it seems that I can never have old flashlights or reading glasses stuck away in too many places. :D
