This is the reason for the difference in the rate of change. The basic gap is due to taxes, but the different rate of change (recently) is mostly due to currency differences. You have put the graph in dollars and the dollar has depreciated during this time frame.
 
At our nearest petrol station, it's 99.9 pence per litre, which is fairly typical in London.

This works out to around 7.14610 USD per gallon.

Yeah...it's all the taxes you all have tacked on...a LOT more than in the US.

Might be better if we stick to comparing the actual price of the fuel...not fuel + taxes.

However how does the cost of living vs. wages compare in these coutries to the US?
I.E - Would we see the same graphic representation for the price of a loaf of bread, milk, eggs, other soft & hard goods?

Compare the price of a Surefire 6P in the US to the price of that same light in Australia...know what I'm asking here? :thinking:
